Saturday marks the first full moon of spring 2018! This is a full weekend for sure. This full moon typically goes by the name of the sap moon or the worm moon. As we enter spring the sap begins to flow. Maple producers all across my region celebrated "Maple Syrup Weekend" last weekend. Warming weather wakes up not only the bears but the trees. The dry stiff limbs begin to have fluid movement again. Our region is showing signs of the sap from the maple trees running strong. This sap is collected and boiled into a delicious treat of maple syrup. As we mirror nature, our winter blood is beginning to thin and our energy begins to return and flow; pushing away those winter blues. Are you feeling as though you are ready to let the juices flow on some new spring projects?
This moon is also known as the worm moon. The earth is now softening, so we can see the path of the earth warm in the grass. The robins have returned and the earth worms are close enough to the surface for the birds to feast. Are you feeling like the early bird that gets the worm? This full moon is at direct alignment at 8:37 am EST Saturday morning. We are able to release our final sluggish baggage from the winter months. This is a great time to smudge our homes and offices. We can do this using smoke smudges, herbal sprays, and also sound vibration. Changing the vibration to release density from our field is part of the manifestation process. With this full moon support, we will begin to truly feel inspired to get a head start on spring cleaning in our inner and outer worlds! This moon cycle falls during a Mercury RETRO-grade. A time when the planet Mercury appears to be spinning in a backwards orbit. Without getting into to much detail, the larger planet Jupiter is also in RETRO-grade. When large planets shift, they bring with those shifts great pulls of energy. When Mercury is in RETRO-grade, this is historically a time to stay away from new financial contracts or agreements. Not that you could not choose to sign a new contract; yet typically, that contract might need a future tweak or two. A "REdo" down the line. It can also be an interesting time for communication and technology during a Mercury RETRO-grade period. As we are just beginning to clear out what is ready to be released from winter, why not take some time over the next few weeks to REcycle, REorganize, REdesign, and REalign your life in a new season. You may already be in alignment with this rhythm? I know I have been. I plan to incorporate a food detox to clean out and REadjust my lymphatic system so that my body is ready to filter the spring pollen that will arrive as the trees bud. This moon is also noted as a Blue Moon. It will be our final Blue Moon until Halloween night 2020! This is merely a term given to describe a second full moon within a calendar month. Based of how time is currently tracked, it is not as rare as described. We notably have a "blue moon" once every 2-3 years. As you have followed my guidance, you may have noticed I don't get overly interactive with the term "blue" moon. The cycles of the moon have been set to nature since the beginning of time. Ancient cultures like the Mayan followed the ebb and flow of the moon cycle. The moon cycles close to a 28 day rhythm. It wasn't until recent modern times that we began tracking the moon in an uneven manner. When we began to track time by the Gregorian calendar, we lost the rhythm of nature. A month, used to also be labeled a "Moonth"; for time passed with the ebb and flow of the moon. As you embrace this first full moon and the manifestation rhythm, you begin to align with the cycles of the moon regardless of the date on the calendar. Of course we also have a connection to many celebrated holiday traditions this weekend connected to this full moon. May you all be blessed with bright moonBEams as we reconnect with the dawn of spring and new growth begins to stir! As a reminder, on 4/4, we will take another step up the time spiral of 2018!
